Euphemism
is an act or expression that people use when they want to
talk about something unpleasant or embarrassing without mentioning it themselves.
kind of euphemism :
1. To Soften Expression.
Some Euphemism used to make the
truth less pleasant look softer :
- Using Passed away than Died to declare death.
- Using Differently-abled than the handicapped or disabled to declare a disability.
- Pregnancy termination using abortion than to declare abortion.
2. Used to Being Polite.
In some cases, Euphemism
deliberately made more repulsive or less fun to say something. This is
typically used when a person is being sarcastic or trying to explain a subject.
example :
- Using batting for the other side than to declare homosexual Gay.
- Using Bit the big one than to declare the death Died.
- Using Bit the farm than to declare the death Died.
- Using Cement shoes than dead to declare death.
- Using Bit the dust rather than to declare the death Died.
